the Gun: Enforcing Federal Laws Against Firearms Traffickers
In this report: the ATF identified the top two sources of illegally
trafficked
guns as: 1) licensed dealers, and 2) gun shows. The ATF analyzed 1,530
firearms trafficking investigations during the period July 1996 -
December 1998
and found that gun shows were the source of approximately 26,000
illegally
diverted firearms.
